This is the name given to the stage of the Tour de France that will include the

Tormalet, Aubisque ,Aspin and the Peyresourde. This is also this years etape du tour and the most exciting day of my summer holidays.

The Tourmalet is not only the highest col in the Pyrenees it is the mountain most visited by the Tour de France and a must for us amateurs trying to get a taste of what its like for the pro’s.

Thanks to Dave and Tony at Bespoked Cycling  my brother and I will be able to test ourselves on route of stage 16, 192km over these four massive mountains.

I have done big days in the mountains before having completed the the Etape du Tour in 2006 and the Marmotte in 2008 but this will be different as we will be cycling 4 days in the high Pyrenees.

Luckily we will have full support from Compo and the Bespoked cycling team

but this could be the toughest cycling challenge I have done yet, and this in a year that will conclude with the Keilder100 mtb race again
